Bud Adams...The Man....The Myth....The Moron

For you all who are not familiar with Bud Adams, he is the Owner of the Tennessee Titans. A couple of months ago the Titans head coach, Jeff Fisher, had a falling out with his drama filled quarterback Vince Young because he got pulled from a game and subsequently was benched and went on IR for the remainder of the season because of a "thumb" injury. During that time there were speculations that it was either Vince Young or Jeff Fisher that was going to remain on the team because both sides couldn't handle it anymore. Bud Adams wisely choose to keep Jeff Fisher, the longest tenured head coach in the NFL. Well, as of today after the Titans got rid of the defensive coordinator as well as the defensive line coach a couple of weeks ago, Bud Adams changed his mind and Jeff Fisher is on the out. Now I want to point out a few things; Jeff Fisher is one of the most respected head coaches in the NFL, has lead his team to a Super Bowl and has turned underachieving teams into perennial contenders. On the other hand, Vince Young has underachieved his whole career despite a magnitude of skills and god given talent, has lost his mind (literally), whined about his team and coaches and never lead his team to a Super Bowl. It seems like the choice would be easy to keep Jeff Fisher, but Bud Adams (who officially took over Al Davis as the craziest owner) made the choice to stick with his Texas quarterback. I want to leave you with this...if you are trying to rebuild a team, who do you keep? A head coach with experience or a quarterback who has never proven that he is capable of winning? I know what the obvious choice is, you hear it echoed throughout the entire state of Tennessee....Bud Adams, you have proven that you do not care about winning. If you are a Titans fan, I wish you all the best in the future, but I fear that you are headed the path of the Lions (and as a Lions fan, I don't wish this on anyone). Bud Adams, you just gave all your fans the middle finger, which is apparently your claim to fame.

Strange Trend with NFL Players

Starting this year in particular, a very odd trend is starting to take place around the league. NFL football players, yes grown ass men, are spokesmen for hair care products. Two of the NFL's greatest defensive players that are known for ridiculous hits and their defensive dominance are spokesmen for Head and Shoulders and Suave, Troy Polamalu and Clay Matthews. I understand the rational of Head and Shoulders and Suave, but at the same time it makes these two players look like b*@ches. If I was a marketing firm and wanted to use a spokesmen for something, I would go after a hard-nosed crazy s.o.b and have him talk about beer or what have you. My choice for the next NFL spokesmen for Natural Light Beer is...............Brett Keisel. While not as well known as the other two, he presence surpasses everyone's in my opinion from just a straight physical appearance.

Tell me that face can't sell Natty Light

The After Work Interesting Sports story of the Day even though this story is Kinda old

The Harris ratings have recently come out showing as usual NFL in 1st followed by MLB. This has been the case for years but this year MLB has moved 6 points closer in the ratings. Though the ratings show baseballs viewer ship is a slow but steady increase it is nice to see that more people are watching . So watch Baseball it is Americas Game if you don't support it you are a Terrorist.

It is of humorous note that Women Sports round out 5 of the bottom 6 spots with viewership at nearly a goose egg.

This Guy was Really Laying the Lumber

Click me for more information
At some point in a mans life you have to ask yourself what you are truly willing to do to get laid,  hopefully the answer to the question is not do a bunch of shots of tequila with your niece and then have sex with her. This man in the sexiest state in the union Indiana did just that. Oh and when he was caught butt naked by his sister and told to leave by his brother in law, his gut reaction told him to go out back and get a 2x4 to beat somebodies gadammmed ass for ruining his sexcapades.

Detroit Lions Have A Spot In History

I promise I won't do this all the time (but being a Lions' fan I have to give props, where props are due). Besides the numerous awards Ndamukong Suh has already received (Rookie of the Year from both Sporting News and Pro Football Weekly) he has gained a big one. He was nominated to the AP All-Pro Team as a rookie defensive tackle. Since it's inception in 1951, a rookie defensive tackle has never been voted to the AP All-Pro Team until now. Even if you are not a Lion's fan, which I am assuming you probably aren't (because there might be 13 left of us on the planet), you have to enjoy what this guy has done for a down in the dumps team and city. Here is the best highlight of him....sorry Jake Delhomme...hahahaha!

Two New Albums Release Today

I will periodically post about new albums that have recently been released. The two of today are Amos Lee's "Mission Statement" as well as Iron and Wine's "Kiss Each Other Clean".

If you like Amos Lee, you don't have to worry about him regressing at all. He continues to do what he does and nail each and every song. I know there is a place and time for every kind of music, and this definitely has a certain easy-going feel to it, so listen to it accordingly. If I was rating these album out of 10, then I would give it a good 7.5, it is one of his better ones for sure, but I know he can do better. I posted the song "Jesus" off his new album for you all to listen to if you wanted to get a good feel for what it's like.

The second album mentioned is by Iron and Wine. I'm sure a lot of you find them boring, but as of late they have been producing more energy filled music instead of the typical acoustic guitar and one guy deal. Now I don't like this album as much as I like Amos Lee's, but it is still a very good album and I recommend it if you know who Iron and Wine is and you like what they do. If you have never heard of them, I suggest you check out The Shepard's Dog album because I feel that is their best to date. I posted a song off their new album that I thought gives a good representation of how it sounds.

Jay Cutler....what a loser

I know a lot of articles have already been written about how HUGE a pansy Jay Cutler is...and I am here to echo this as well. Mr. Cutler...you are playing by far and away the biggest game in your professional career...you are playing to get into the damn SUPERBOWL! Now what do you do in this game? You go 6-14 for a solid 80 yards and 1 interception...a great line to begin with. On top of your stellar performance, you leave the game in the 3rd quarter because of an apparent knee injury. Now I am not a professional athlete as many of you could imagine, but if you have the stability to stand on the sideline as well as ride a bike on the sideline, then you can finish the game and help your team get to the Superbowl. I have no problem with some of the other players around the league taking jabs at Cutler for being a "quitter" as Maurice Jones Drew put it. You were convinced you tore your MCL, now while that sounds scary, the fact of the matter is, that after a MRI, it only revealed a Grade 2 MCL Sprain. So, you leave the game and rock solid Todd Collins comes in for two snaps and pretty much tries to throw interceptions to the Packers...job well done Todd, now go sit back on the bench. Next in line is virtually unknown Caleb Haine...where the hell did this guy come from?? Colorado State?? Regardless, this kid played lights out for a 3rd string QB leading the team for two TD drives. I will admit that he had a huge costly mistake throwing a pick-6 to B.J. Raji, but other than that, you could not ask for more out of this kid. Now I will give Cutler a slight pass here, because I did not know the rule that if a 3rd string QB comes in, then your 1st string QB cannot come back into the game. Either way, if you are a Bears fan you have to have sheer disgust in your heart for Cutler for giving up on your team. I personally had a difficult time watching the NFC Championship to begin with because I have such a hatred for both the Bears and Packers because they are in the Lions division, but also for the obvious fact that I have never seen the Lions make the NFC Championship.

Click Here for a link to the twitter posts about Jay Cutler by players, analysts and former players.

BUT HERE IS TO YOU JAY CUTLER....congratulations on letting your team, fans and an entire city down.

New Music for the Brain

I am not entirely sure what kind of music everyone likes, but I am a pretty good judge of what "good music" actually is. If you disagree, I don't really care because this is my blog and you are just a follower.

However, I came across Rome the other day. It is Danger Mouse and a fella named Daniele Lupi. They formed this group because of their love for old Italian film scores. Their album should be out sometime in March and they have some guest appearances by Jack White and Norah Jones. I posted a link for you all to enjoy, it is snipets of some of the songs on the new album...

#1 - It's not just our first post...it's our way of life

This is a very typical blog, but what sets everything apart from the generic blog writers (I'm not sure I enjoy the word "blog" to begin with) is the fact that two well established 20+ year old upstanding gentlemen are writing about what they know. Whether you agree with what we say (or if it even makes sense to you weak-minded people) you will listen to what we have to say, because we will take over your mind and make our thoughts your thoughts. Right now you are questioning whether this is even possible, the fact of the matter is that it actually is possible. You will find yourself checking this piece of shit blog everyday wondering what in the hell we will say next...or better yet, what we won't say, because it is safe to say that we will have more important things to do than make your day better with our thoughts and opinions.

Much Love,
Lion
